Pelicans hold a special place in my heart. I have a group of girlfriends that I taught with in Oregon in the late 1900s and early 2000s who have become some of the closest friends I have ever had. To make a long story short, we call ourselves "The Pelicans". So, anytime I see a pelican or the word pelican I am thinking of these incredible women. So you can bet, there was a lot of love that went into painting this pelican. Strung with repurposed fishing line, coordinating beads, and finished with a coat of resin for a glasslike finish, this ornament is sure to be cherished for years to come.
